"Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness."
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! What a special time of year, when we are blessed with beautiful weather and the changing of the seasons, and then on top of all this, we get a day off of work in order to spend time with our family and friends and offer thanks for what we have been given. This year I have truly been given much! I am thankful for all of the constants in my life, the blessings that I feel thankful for every day like my family, salvation, friends and the freedoms we enjoy in the country, but I am also thankful today that I am so blessed to consider those things "constants" in my life. I am also thankful that this year, Jessica and I were able to buy a house and there have already been some wonderful memories shared in it. I'm thankful that Ricky moved home recently, and also that Chris and Rebecca moved here this year and we have all gotten to spend so much time together. I'm thankful for our Friday nights around the fire pit and all of the laughs that we have shared there! I'm also thankful that in the current environment in which many of the hometown community banks have had to close their doors, we have been blessed with good management and a good market so that our bank is doing well and I have a wonderful job working for truly caring and generous employers. I'm thankful that Debbie and Cadem will be part of our Thanksgiving this year, and for their addition to our church family in the past year. I'm thankful for another year of life in which to learn and grow, and I'm thankful for the experiences that bring that learning and growth. And I am so thankful for all of those special people in my life who love me and inspire me to walk closer to my Lord! I hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving day and that we all remember to offer thanks to God every day of our lives, because we are so abundantly blessed!
"O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand." Psalm 95:1-7
